Parent: #30

Goal

Validate the merged durable Kernel task-execution path on ROG before the first real provider inference.

Use only the new operator surface from Kernel #37 / PR #38 and creatidy-onprem #43 / PR #44.

ROG is the intended operator/runtime host for this validation. Do not assume Precision paths or services.

Required operator path

Run on ROG:

make kernel-env-validate.dev
make kernel-doctor.dev
make kernel-task.preflight.dev TASK=143

Requirements

  • zero provider inference;
  • no thread/start;
  • no turn/start;
  • no Scarcity Router #143 implementation;
  • no branch/PR creation;
  • no push;
  • no merge/deploy.

Discover and validate the actual ROG-local:

  • SOPS/age setup;
  • Kernel checkout;
  • Scarcity Router checkout;
  • Codex binary/version/auth home;
  • Router endpoint;
  • runtime binding;
  • Forge configuration;
  • state/evidence directories.

Do not invent missing configuration.

Target task

BioMedical-IT/scarcity-router#143

Freeze the then-current canonical Scarcity Router develop SHA and verify the task is still relevant.

Terminal outcome

End with exactly one:

  • READY_FOR_LIVE_TASK
  • CONFIGURATION_PROVISIONING_REQUIRED
  • INFRASTRUCTURE_BLOCKED
  • TASK_STALE

If READY_FOR_LIVE_TASK, return the exact execution packet but do not execute it.

The later live command will be:

make kernel-task.run.dev TASK=143 CONFIRM_KERNEL_LIVE=1

Do not run it in this issue.

CONFIGURATION_PROVISIONING_REQUIRED

Validation host: ROG (observed with hostname). No source or configuration edits were made.

Canonical Source Evidence

Fetched origin develop in all three canonical checkouts before running the operator targets. Each checkout was clean, on develop, and already matched the freshly fetched canonical ref; working content was unchanged.

Checkout Exact HEAD / origin/develop
/home/adrian/workspace/creatidy/creatidy-kernel eb2bcceeafaf1dccc6f6cfba3d456d529eaa0baa
/home/adrian/workspace/creatidy/creatidy-onprem e5cac530f6c9ef9a18982a6a02bc5e834978ce0a
/home/adrian/workspace/scarcity-router 17f4918a49139c6f539dc073695308cc7516f50f

Forgejo metadata confirms Kernel PR #38 and Infrastructure/creatidy-onprem PR #44 are merged into develop. The merged operator surface was used.

Target BioMedical-IT/scarcity-router#143 remains open. At the frozen canonical Scarcity Router SHA above, tests/test_e2e_execution.py:1053-1060 still exits on response EOF before asserting worker.cancels; the exact-owning-worker variant retains the same pattern at lines 1084-1093. The reported baseline is still unfixed and suitable for later task validation. No scenario, tests, or task implementation were executed.

Operator Evidence

Ran in the required order from the canonical onprem checkout:

  1. make kernel-env-validate.dev: failed configuration validation.
  2. make kernel-doctor.dev: failed the same configuration gate.
  3. make kernel-task.preflight.dev TASK=143: failed the same configuration gate.

All three reported the field names CREATIDY_KERNEL_CODEX_BIN, CREATIDY_KERNEL_FORGE_TOKEN, and CREATIDY_KERNEL_RUNTIME_BINDING. A field-name-only inspection through the existing operator SOPS loader additionally confirmed that CREATIDY_KERNEL_CODEX_VERSION is a placeholder. SOPS/age profile decryption succeeded; no decrypted values were printed or persisted.

Exact missing/placeholder fields:

  • CREATIDY_KERNEL_CODEX_BIN
  • CREATIDY_KERNEL_CODEX_VERSION
  • CREATIDY_KERNEL_FORGE_TOKEN
  • CREATIDY_KERNEL_RUNTIME_BINDING

Next safe operator command, from /home/adrian/workspace/creatidy/creatidy-onprem:

make kernel-env-edit.dev

No values were invented or supplied. The configuration gate prevented runtime readiness checks, so no actual Codex version/authentication, reachable Router endpoint/TLS, compatible runtime allocation, configured Forge readiness, state/evidence suitability, or preflight exact-base propagation is attested. The recorded Scarcity Router SHA is a fetched source pin, not a successful preflight execution packet. No READY evidence packet was created by these attempts.

Safety Evidence

Provider inference count: 0. The operator rejected the profile before Kernel CLI composition, Router selection, or Codex process startup. No thread/start or turn/start; no Scarcity Router #143 execution; no branch/PR creation; no push, merge, or deployment. The live run target was not executed. Final Git status remained clean in all three checkouts. This issue comment is the only Forgejo write performed for this validation; the configured task Forge transport was never invoked.

Issue #39 remains open pending configuration provisioning and a fresh operator validation.

ROG Provisioning Discovery, No Edits

Non-secret recommendations:

CREATIDY_KERNEL_CODEX_BIN=/home/adrian/.vscode-server/extensions/openai.chatgpt-26.917.62051-linux-x64/bin/linux-x86_64/codex
CREATIDY_KERNEL_CODEX_VERSION=0.155.0-alpha.16.3
CREATIDY_KERNEL_RUNTIME_BINDING=openai/gpt-5.6-sol/low
CREATIDY_KERNEL_FORGE_TOKEN=NEW_MINIMALLY_SCOPED_PAT_REQUIRED

Execution-Channel Evidence

The executable exists, is executable, and realpath returns the path above. It is not on this shell's PATH. Its only executed Codex command was the absolute binary with --version, which returned exactly codex-cli 0.155.0-alpha.16.3.

The existing Kernel operator profile selects HOME=/home/adrian. In that native home, .codex/config.toml explicitly selects model = "gpt-5.6-sol" and model_reasoning_effort = "low", with no model-provider/custom-provider configuration. Codex's documented native provider default is openai. The existing .codex/models_cache.json reports client version 0.155.0 and explicitly lists low among the supported reasoning levels for the exact gpt-5.6-sol slug. No Codex requirements file was found at /etc/codex/requirements.toml or the inspected native home. The recommendation preserves the currently configured native model/effort and uses the native cached capability inventory, not a Router recommendation, model-name inference, or a variant mapping. This is cached execution-channel capability evidence, not authenticated inference or an execution receipt.

Credential Source Evidence

The existing SOPS structure contains a provisioned service credential in secrets/autonomy/.env.prd.sops.yaml, field CREATIDY_AUTONOMY_FORGEJO_TOKEN, with configured publisher login autonomy. Its documented purpose is M5-B review publication; neither its actual PAT scopes nor Git/AGit push authority for BioMedical-IT/scarcity-router was verified. It is therefore not recommended for deliberate reuse. The Forgejo DB password and runner-registration token are not suitable writer PATs; the Kernel token remains a placeholder. No suitably scoped reusable credential was established.

Minimum new PAT authority: specific-repository access to BioMedical-IT/scarcity-router only, write:repository plus read:issue, and a deliberately provisioned writer identity authorized for the required task Git/AGit topic push and PR creation/read. No admin, organization, user-management, webhook, deployment, or branch-protection bypass authority is required. Kernel writer login is not yet provisioned; no login or token value was invented. Forgejo scope reference: https://forgejo.org/docs/latest/user/authentication/token-scope/ . Codex provider reference: https://developers.openai.com/codex/config-reference/ .

All secret inspection was transient and restricted to field names, provisioned/placeholder status, and the non-secret configured publisher login. No secret was printed, copied into the Kernel profile, or persisted. No SOPS or source edit occurred; onprem Git status remains clean. Provider inference count for this discovery: 0. No app-server inventory command, thread/start, turn/start, Router selection, task execution, push, merge, or deployment was performed.

TASK_STALE

Terminal result for Issue #39 is reclassified as TASK_STALE, per Adrian's explicit instruction. This supersedes the earlier provisioning-required outcome; it does not attest readiness for a live task.

Verified Evidence

  • Current canonical BioMedical-IT/scarcity-router branch develop is db4e1bde28b2398e94b2911eb57bd3b752538dc5, verified through Forgejo commit metadata. The inspected local checkout HEAD matches this exact SHA.
  • That SHA is the merge commit for PR #164, Scenario 11: synchronize cancel assertion on the worker cancel record (#143). Forgejo confirms the PR is merged into develop and issue #143 is closed.
  • At this revision, both Scenario 11 tests in tests/test_e2e_execution.py wait on lambda: execute.attempt_id in worker.cancels, using the remaining existing deadline budget (lines 1070-1073 and 1113-1116). They no longer infer cancellation receipt from client-socket EOF alone.
  • The frozen #143 race baseline is therefore intentionally no longer valid. The doctor-reported task_baseline_invalid is consistent with that accepted source change, not a reason to implement the obsolete task.

Bounded Operator Outcome

The Kernel encrypted profile was provisioned without exposing or persisting the token in plaintext; the autonomy source secret was unchanged. make kernel-env-validate.dev passed. The subsequent authorized make kernel-doctor.dev reported task_baseline_invalid, router_not_ready, and forge_not_ready. Router and Forge blocker causes are not being investigated under this issue; no readiness claim is made for those surfaces.

Provider inference count = 0. No thread/start, turn/start, task execution, push, PR creation, merge, or deployment occurred in this Issue #39 continuation. The doctor wrapper internally uses quota-free task preflight, but kernel-task.preflight.dev was not run separately. No replacement task was selected and no live execution packet is authorized.

Closure Blocked

Adrian requested closure as TASK_STALE, not READY_FOR_LIVE_TASK. The Forgejo MCP issue-state change returned HTTP 403; subsequent authoritative retrieval confirms Issue #39 remains open. The configured kilo identity has repository permissions pull=true, push=false, admin=false on Creatidy/creatidy-kernel. An identity authorized to change the state of this issue must complete the closure; no repository permissions or credentials were changed.

Correction: the initial version of this comment stated that the issue was closed before the closure operation completed. That statement is retracted. This evidence comment was created and corrected successfully; the attempted issue closure did not succeed.
