Goal

Implement the minimal Forge port and Forgejo reference adapter for opaque identities, authorized branch/push/PR effects, observations, conformance, and uncertain-operation reconciliation.

Why

Forgejo is the first reference forge but must not own Program truth or leak its payload/state model into core.

Scope

In scope

Opaque repository/change/revision/check handles; identity/branch/change/CI observations; authorized branch/push/PR operations; normalized receipts; capability checks; pagination/absence semantics; exact accepted PR head; authorized base repository and target-branch identity; observed base SHA as operation provenance; idempotency/uncertainty reconciliation; shared fake/real conformance; PR creation as artifact. The reviewed PR #22 is a safe foundation. Planned child #24 replaces its unsupported live snapshot PR mechanism with owner-selected AGit creation.

Out of scope

GitHub canonical behavior, universal SDK, merge automation, deployment, Forgejo state as core status, gh, unrelated forge administration, K6/K7, server-side hooks, and a new snapshot authority. Future merge authorization and its own exact-subject/precondition checks are not part of K5.

Acceptance Criteria

  • Fake and Forgejo pass the same required-operation/receipt conformance suite, including unavailable reads, out-of-binding repositories, and bounded local refusal.
  • Identities remain opaque and qualified outside adapters; AGit-specific payloads and topic identity remain at the Forgejo adapter boundary, preserving adapters -> ports -> core.
  • Pagination, permission-limited absence, eventual consistency, changed accepted head, unsupported capability, and unknown effects are distinct and safe.
  • Only authorized exact-scope PR creation occurs. The accepted candidate full SHA is immutable authority; the live AGit adapter pushes exactly that SHA to refs/for/<authorized-base> using a fresh collision-resistant operation topic never intentionally reused for a new operation. It does not create/resolve an ordinary mutable head branch as a creation precondition. Ambiguous/lost replies are reconciled before any safe retry; transport success alone is not acknowledgement.
  • Creation is acknowledged only after authoritative read-back of PR identity, expected target repository and base branch, and exact current PR head SHA equal to the accepted candidate. Base authority is repository + branch identity, while observed base SHA is evidence, not a permanent creation precondition. Later PR head movement stales evidence for the old SHA; it cannot silently inherit prior authorization.
  • PR opening and conservative reconciliation are tested in shared synthetic conformance; no merge/deploy capability is added and core tests need no live Forgejo. Required repository validation and fresh independent whole-PR review pass for child #24's exact HEAD.

Constraints

  • Direct prerequisite: issue #7. Direct dependent: issue #10. Parent K5 completion also depends on correction child #24.
  • Preserve ADR 0003/0004/0005 and docs/architecture/contracts.md; live checks supplement offline fixtures.
  • Owner decision on 2026-09-26 supersedes the prior write-once snapshot mechanism with AGit exact-head creation. It does not retroactively alter PR #22's review, 10/10 remediation ledger, accepted-candidate invariant, or owner merge authority. PR #22 can land as reviewed foundation; keep this issue open until correction #24 integrates into develop and its acceptance evidence is satisfied.

Git transport now requires an explicit controller-owned bare object source rather than worktree discovery, rejects indirection and verifies full commit OID; exact one-ref success porcelain is required; Git output is bounded. Reconcile counts all authenticated reads; repository identity consumes explicit absence evidence; HTTP enforces outbound byte cap and main-thread monotonic total deadline, failing closed where a deadline cannot be installed. Synthetic adversarial tests added. Required validation before push: make check 258 passed, make package-check passed, git diff --check passed. No dependency/tooling changes. Explicit trusted object-source ownership/isolation remains caller responsibility, not a claim this adapter is a sandbox. Fresh full review and exact-HEAD Forgejo CI pending. Initial and subsequent ledger entries remain on issue #9, starting #9 (comment); cycle 3 #9 (comment), correction #9 (comment).

Effect model enforces branch creation absence before first attempt or replay. Fake/reference PR reconciliation accepts only one exact marker after complete bounded scan; duplicates/conflicts/incomplete evidence stay UNKNOWN. Git subprocess uses process-group cleanup, producer-framed stale porcelain, finite targeted trusted-source checks. HTTP PR body preflight rejects oversized strings before serialization/network and normalizes to REJECTED; 401/403 map INACCESSIBLE. Initial repository_review L4/5/5/5 routing selected openai/gpt-5.6-sol/medium, catalog v4, policy v8, degraded=false, direct provider/no fallback; Agent Manager resolution verified for distinct read-only session ses_f2209bfcdffeXIEcx7umXGa3W7. That session delegated substantive correction analysis to another fresh read-only session ses_f2205b4b0ffe3RM3PD20rHEvJH, which separately routed/resolved the same configuration (request am-1790430563035-fszxa5); this redundant selection is a process deviation, not an additional full PR review or remediation cycle. Both reported BOUNDED_CORRECTION for unchanged frozen inputs. No Forgejo review was persisted for this architecture-only correction; its reference is the two Agent Manager sessions and this issue ledger entry, not platform approval.

F24 valid: no-op up to date is not CAS/absence proof, remain UNKNOWN and do not upgrade via target-equals-desired observation. F25 valid: cleanup credential-bearing process group on completed nonzero Git exit. F26 valid: mutable offset PR listing cannot establish global marker uniqueness, even with repeat/high-water scans. Bounded remedy within issue #9: validated POST receipt can be accepted and persisted via the existing journal's accepted reference; if that known trusted reference exists, direct PR lookup can revalidate exact repository/subject/marker. After lost reply or crash before receipt persistence, PR-list matches are diagnostic only and remain UNKNOWN without retry. No contract/architecture/scope/owner decision required. Correction review costs zero; remediation_used=4 / 10 pending changed HEAD. Full review cycle 5: #9 (comment).

Initial repository_review L4/5/5/5 Router selection was openai/gpt-5.6-sol/medium (catalog v4, policy v8, degraded=false), Agent Manager resolution verified for session ses_f2209bfcdffeXIEcx7umXGa3W7. Dispatch diagnostic: that session delegated analysis through an extra routed, verified fresh read-only session ses_f2205b4b0ffe3RM3PD20rHEvJH instead of reviewing directly; it did not persist a Forgejo review. The nested independent session reported distinct BOUNDED_CORRECTION for F24-F26 on the unchanged frozen HEAD, not a full PR approval. This is a correction-analysis reference only, not a claimed valid full PR review cycle or platform review state. F24 no-op push must remain UNKNOWN absent proven CAS precondition; F25 completed nonzero Git process must terminate descendants; F26 mutable offset PR pages cannot prove global marker uniqueness/absence, so receipt/reference-based direct lookup is the bounded path and lost reply without persisted reference remains UNKNOWN with no retry. No material owner decision or scope change was identified. Correction analysis costs zero; remediation_used=4 / 10 before changed HEAD. Linked full cycle 5: #9 (comment). No Forgejo review was persisted for this architecture correction; subsequent full changed-HEAD review still requires fresh routing/verification.

Git up to date no-op is never accepted as CAS proof; branch/push replay remains UNKNOWN when a reply is lost. Normal nonzero Git exit terminates its process group. PR replay no longer treats mutable offset-list scans as acceptance: only a trusted journal-persisted exact PR reference permits a bounded direct lookup with exact repository/head/base/title/body/marker/revision checks. Lost reply before durable receipt stays UNKNOWN, without automatic repost. Shared adversarial tests cover no-op stale lease, failed parent descendants and mutable insertion. Remediation 7 (cycle 7 F30-F32)

Same PR #22 branch pushed changed HEAD 08f994f4abf31601b03dc551633a9181cf6585ec; remediation=done, remediation_used=7 / 10, max 10. Adapter-boundary repository syntax rejects percent escapes, URL delimiters and noncanonical components so Git/HTTP cannot resolve different paths for the same opaque handle. Producer PR number uses exactly int and the same 1-18 digit positive reference grammar as observation/replay; malformed response stays UNKNOWN. Fake and Forgejo reject Git-invalid branch names before observation/effects, with production Git ref check retained. Shared adversarial tests added. Required validation before push: make check 410 passed, make package-check passed, git diff --check passed; no dependency/tooling changes. Fresh full exact-HEAD independent review and CI pending. Cycle 7 #9 (comment); initial ledger #9 (comment). Issue open, PR unmerged.

Fresh reviewer ses_f21b6c328ffeCpJhQzNrlYolll DISPATCH_VERIFIED/completed; read-only correction #22 (comment) (id 621, COMMENT) returned distinct BOUNDED_CORRECTION, not full PR approval. One coherent correction is in-scope: adapter-level canonical forge-instance binding across HTTP/Git, finite shared repository/branch/OID/producer codec, deadline-aware capability support, exact process-group quiescence and documented endpoint-specific non-creation statuses. Uppercase identifiers and unsupported execution contexts may fail closed; unknown transport outcomes remain UNKNOWN. F33-F41 are valid with narrower constraint that safe consecutive dots may be consistently supported or rejected, not assumed unsafe by substring. No material owner decision identified; correction review costs zero and budget remains 7 / 10 before changed HEAD. Prior cycle 8 #9 (comment).

Remediation 8 (cycle 8 F33-F41; bounded correction)

Same PR #22 branch pushed changed HEAD a62e8a7159c50af0c6adfffa92bc4101abb7f4bd; remediation=done, remediation_used=8 / 10, max 10. Adapter-level immutable ForgeBinding requires exact normalized HTTPS origin and repository path across HTTP/Git transports before effects/credentials. Shared finite repository/branch/OID/producer-ID syntax rejects noncanonical/oversized values; missing fake PR fields and bool/out-of-range check IDs fail closed. HTTP capability reflects total-deadline availability, unsupported contexts fail before token/network; bounded JSON parse failures are normalized; Git process-group cleanup runs on successful and failed exit; only documented PR non-creation statuses 403/409/413/422/423 are REJECTED. Lowercase full OIDs are canonical. Synthetic adversarial tests added. Required validation before push: make check 429 passed, make package-check passed, git diff --check passed; dependency/tooling unchanged. Fresh full exact-HEAD independent review and Forgejo CI pending. Cycle 8 #9 (comment), correction #9 (comment); initial ledger #9 (comment). Issue open and PR unmerged.

Read-only correction review #22 (comment) (id 623, forgejo_review_state=COMMENT, platform_approval_recorded=false) returned distinct GENUINE_OWNER_DECISION_REQUIRED, not full PR approval. F42 cannot be boundedly fixed under the selected contract: Forgejo POST /pulls takes mutable branch names, not expected exact revisions/CAS. Pre/post checks cannot prevent an out-of-scope artifact when refs move between observation and creation. F43 fake/reference unsupported-read/binding conformance and F44 pre-marker size bounds remain bounded defects but do not resolve F42. Owner Decision Applied (before remediation 9)

The owner selected asymmetric PR-creation authority for this issue: exact accepted candidate SHA via Kernel-controlled write-once snapshot head with verified isolation; PR base authority is repository + target branch identity, with observed base SHA retained only as provenance. Head mismatch is an authority failure; base-tip movement alone is not. K5 remains PR-open only, never merge/deploy. Issue #9 body/acceptance was updated accordingly. Prior terminal GENUINE_OWNER_DECISION_REQUIRED at #9 (comment) is resolved by the owner's instruction; no historical review or budget is reset. PR #22 remains at a62e8a7159c50af0c6adfffa92bc4101abb7f4bd, remediation_used 8 / 10. One coherent changed HEAD will count as remediation 9 and require fresh full exact-HEAD review. Two remaining bounded blockers from review 9 (fake/reference unsupported-read and binding conformance, bounded pre-marker/body allocation) are included in that change.

Remediation 9 (owner-authorized architecture correction; F42-F44)

One coherent change pushed to existing PR #22 branch, resulting HEAD cda6861c15b567de683b81cb6989826f3cdd9bd7; remediation=done, remediation_used=9 / 10, max 10. PR head authority now uses immutable accepted commit SHA: deterministic Kernel snapshot ref from bounded operation identity, absent-to-exact-SHA conditional creation under a trusted bound write-once SnapshotIsolation capability held through PR POST and verification. The mutable working branch is not used as PR head or a precondition. Without enforced isolation, live pr is unadvertised and unsupported before writes; no live server-side isolation provider was supplied/claimed. PR base authority is repository + target branch; Effect rejects a PR base_revision input, and Receipt.observed_base carries the observed SHA provenance through apply/reconcile. Head mismatch is an authority failure; base-tip movement alone is not. Shared fake/reference tests cover snapshot contention, mutation, unavailable isolation, head/base movement, lost reply and replay; F43 unsupported-read/out-of-binding behavior and F44 bounded marker/body preallocation were corrected. docs/architecture/contracts.md reflects the issue-specific decision; no merge/deploy added. Required local validation on this exact HEAD before push: make check 443 passed, make package-check passed, git diff --check passed; dependency/tooling unchanged. Fresh whole-PR independent review and exact-HEAD Forgejo CI pending. Owner decision recorded #9 (comment); previous terminal #9 (comment) resolved, historical entries preserved. Issue remains open and PR unmerged.

Remediation 10 (final authorized cycle; review 10 F45-F47)

One coherent changed HEAD pushed to existing PR #22 branch: 4f412d8022e4f1f39a1bcebf3f6afb17a89a31fa; remediation=done, remediation_used=10 / 10, max 10. First PR delivery now performs absent-to-exact-SHA atomic Git CAS directly under bound server-enforced snapshot isolation; pre-existing snapshot even same SHA is contention, UNKNOWN push never POSTs and replay without durable PR reference never retries. No unreliable HTTP 404 absence proof is required for snapshot creation. Only a positively FOUND different snapshot SHA raises authority conflict; UNKNOWN/INACCESSIBLE/ABSENT verification reads before/after POST or on known-reference reconcile return UNKNOWN. Fake and Forgejo both normalize malformed immediate PR producer evidence to UNKNOWN. Shared tests cover all these cases, including direct_absence=false, with immutable accepted head, moving base evidence and no merge preserved. Exact-HEAD local validation before push: make check 471 passed, make package-check passed, git diff --check passed; dependency/tooling unchanged. A mandatory fresh full independent review of this exact HEAD remains pending. If it does not substantively APPROVE with zero blockers, delivery stops REMEDIATION_BUDGET_EXHAUSTED; no eleventh change is authorized. Prior review cycle 10: #9 (comment). Issue open and PR unmerged.

Formal platform APPROVED was not recorded: PR author and reviewer are both kilo, and the independent reviewer reports the exact Forgejo MCP rejection MCP error -32603: create pull review err: approve your own pull is not allowed; persisted review state COMMENT, official=false, platform_approval_recorded=false. This known shared-identity limitation does not replace or negate the independent substantive verdict. No accessible branch-protection rule establishing a separate formal-approval merge requirement was observed; do not infer one from inaccessible admin policy.
Exact-HEAD evidence: make check 471 passed, make package-check passed, git diff --check passed; Forgejo CI run #1982 status success for the same SHA. Updated issue #9 acceptance was reviewed as satisfied in offline shared fake/reference conformance; no live write-once isolation provider is supplied, so live PR effect remains fail-closed unsupported without a binding-matched enforced capability. One low, non-blocking README clarification remains; no changes are made after approval. remediation_used=10 / 10 out of max 10; no eleventh remediation. Current PR remains open/unmerged, issue open; owner retains merge authority and any explicit policy checks. Linked review ledger: #9 (comment) and initial ledger #9 (comment). Full review cycle 11 #22 (comment) (id 626) was verified on this exact HEAD with substantive_verdict=APPROVE, zero unresolved blocking findings and acceptance criteria met offline. Forgejo persisted review state COMMENT, platform_approval_recorded=false: PR author and reviewer both resolve to shared kilo; reviewer attempted APPROVED and reports the platform rejected own-PR approval (the documented platform error is approve your own pull is not allowed). This is a platform identity limitation, not a substantive COMMENT verdict. Branch protection list is inaccessible without admin permission, so no formal-approval rule is inferred or claimed. Local exact-HEAD gates make check 471 passed, make package-check passed, git diff --check passed; Forgejo workflow run #1982 success for the identical SHA; working tree clean. Terminal condition READY_FOR_OWNER_MERGE; owner retains merge authority, no merge/deploy/main promotion performed. Prior ledger cycle 11: #9 (comment); issue body records owner decision.

Owner decision after the exact-HEAD approval of PR #22: K5 live PR creation will use AGit from the accepted full commit SHA, with unique per-operation topic, authoritative read-back, base repository/branch identity, and later head movement invalidating old evidence. The earlier write-once snapshot mechanism is superseded for the future correction; do not rewrite PR #22's historical delivery ledger or extend its 10/10 budget. One narrowly scoped correction child is #24: #24. Its deployment evidence is disposable AGit probe PR #23: #23 (DO NOT MERGE). Issue #9 stays open until child #24 is integrated. Normal non-forced Forgejo MCP merge of reviewed foundation PR #22 returned HTTP 405 under current kilo permissions; no direct-Git or force bypass was attempted. Correction branch must start from develop after PR #22 is integrated. Forgejo issue-dependency API returned 404 for #9 -> #24, so this reciprocal comment and child issue Links are the durable link.
